Woman Exposed for Attempted Scam on Auntie Naa’s Oyerepa Afutuo Show

A woman identified as Amina Issah has been exposed after allegedly attempting to deceive the popular Oyerepa Afutuo programme hosted by Auntie Naa.

Amina appeared live on the show with a heartbreaking story, claiming that her husband had died in a tragic car accident. She told the host and the panel that she was now a struggling single mother trying to survive.

According to her narration, she had managed to save GH¢10,000, which she entrusted to a man to purchase a fufu pounding machine for her so she could start a small business.

However, she alleged that the man had disappeared with the money and could no longer be reached.

To strengthen her claim, Amina even presented a photograph of a man she accused of taking the money and absconding.

However, during further investigations and questioning on the programme, it was discovered that the entire story was fabricated. The man whose photo she shared turned out to be an innocent person, whose picture she had reportedly taken from his WhatsApp status without his knowledge.

It was also revealed that Amina’s husband was alive and well, contradicting her earlier claim that he had died in a car accident.

When confronted with the inconsistencies in her story, Amina changed her narrative, explaining that she had taken a loan from Bills Micro Credit and was struggling to repay it. According to her, the financial pressure pushed her to invent the story in an attempt to gain sympathy and possibly receive financial assistance.

The revelation sparked outrage among viewers and the programme’s panel, who condemned the act and warned against using false stories to manipulate the public and media platforms.
