A 22-year-old man, identified as Kwame, has been remanded by a Koforidua court for allegedly robbing and raping a 25-year-old nurse during her National Service.
The victim, who had been renting a room in Kwame’s family house, was lured out under the pretense that someone was looking for her near the Yiadom Hwedie Palace. While she was away, Kwame reportedly changed clothes, masked up, and entered her room.
When the nurse returned, he allegedly pulled a knife, demanded cash, and took over GH¢1,000. He also demanded a mobile money transfer, which she could not fulfill. Kwame then allegedly ordered her to undress at knifepoint and sexually assaulted her in a Doggy-Style.
He has been charged and remains in custody pending further investigation.
