Aduana Stars manager Takyi Arhin has taken a swipe at former Black Stars captain André “Dede” Ayew over his reported interest in becoming the next President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA).
Arhin questioned Ayew’s reported ambition to lead the country’s football governing body, suggesting that the former Black Stars captain should instead return to his hometown, Paga Nania, and invest the money he intends to spend on his campaign in goat farming.
“Dede Ayew should go to his hometown, Paga Nania, and use his GFA president campaign money to buy goats and start rearing them,” Takyi Arhin said.
The comments are likely to fuel debate among football fans, particularly as Ayew’s name continues to feature in discussions about the future leadership of Ghana football.
Ayew, one of Ghana’s most decorated and longest-serving international players, has yet to publicly confirm whether he intends to contest the GFA presidential election.
Arhin’s remarks, however, add a new dimension to the growing conversation surrounding potential candidates and the direction of Ghana football administration.
