If a so-called Prophet or Pastor can sit on radio or television and publicly declare that from October Ghana is going to experience fire outbreaks, why are the security agencies silent?
I am a seer myself, but I also look at these things through an intelligence and national-security lens.
Any religious leader who makes specific public utterances predicting destructive incidents such as fire outbreaks, explosions, attacks or other disasters should be immediately picked up and investigated.
This is not about attacking Christianity or freedom of worship. It is about public safety and national security.
If you claim publicly that you know that fires are going to happen, then security agencies have every reason to ask you:
What do you know?
Where did the information come from?
Who gave you the information?
Did you have prior knowledge of any planned incident?
Are you simply making a prophecy, or are you withholding intelligence from the state?
We cannot continue to dismiss everything as “prophecy” when statements have the potential to create fear and panic among the public.
If the person has done nothing wrong, let the investigation establish that.
But nobody should be allowed to make serious public security predictions, walk away, and expect the authorities to do absolutely nothing.
The Police and National Security must investigate such utterances. Arrest them where the law provides grounds to do so, interrogate them, establish the source of the information, and let the evidence speak.
Ghana cannot afford to sleep when potential intelligence is being broadcast openly on radio and television.
Public safety first. National security first. Ghana first.
