Ghanaian actor and filmmaker Kwadwo Nkansah LilWin has explained why he sometimes prefers working with Nigerian actors over some of their Ghanaian counterparts.

According to LilWin, Nigerian actors tend to demonstrate a high level of seriousness and commitment when it comes to film projects.

He claimed that some Nigerian actors can receive a script, read through it, agree to the terms and sign a contract on the same day, allowing production to move forward without unnecessary delays.

LilWin contrasted this with his experience with some Ghanaian actors, whom he said can sometimes be difficult to reach or slow to respond when contacted for casting opportunities.

He suggested that the difference in attitude towards work can affect the efficiency and progress of film productions.

His comments have since sparked discussions about professionalism, commitment and work ethics within the Ghanaian and Nigerian movie industries, with some industry watchers debating whether Ghana’s film sector needs to adopt stronger professional standards.
