President Tinubu Declares Three Days of National Mourning After Military Aircraft Crash Kills 32
Nigeria’s President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has declared three days of national mourning following the death of 32 people, including Nigerian Air Force personnel, in a military aircraft crash in Ondo State.
President Tinubu has also directed that national flags be flown at half-mast across Nigeria in honour of the victims.
The aircraft crashed near a naval base in the Igbokoda area of Ondo State while reportedly on a routine mission from Benin City to Lagos.
It was carrying 25 passengers and seven crew members, bringing the total number of people on board to 32.
The crash has triggered mourning across the country, with authorities expected to investigate the circumstances surrounding the accident and determine what caused the aircraft to go down.
President Tinubu has expressed condolences to the families of the victims and commended the personnel who lost their lives while serving the country.
