The Criminal Investigations Department (CID) has issued an update on the domestic abuse case involving Rosemond Akua Adobea, popularly known as Nana Akua, following her petition alleging physical, emotional and economic abuse by her husband, Harold Norman.

Norman was arrested on August 27, 2026, and later granted police enquiry bail as investigations into the couple’s history with the Domestic Violence and Victim Support Unit (DOVVSU) continued.

Although he was scheduled to appear in court on October 7, he failed to appear after his lawyer informed the Police that he had been admitted to hospital, prompting DOVVSU investigators to visit the facility to verify his condition.

Police say they are monitoring the situation to facilitate his prosecution upon discharge, while collaborating with the Gender Ministry to provide welfare support for Nana Akua and her children.
